After considerable discussion with Mrs. Rev.Paperboy we have come to the conclusion that in the event of a major crisis, if we had to pick five people to stand with and count on absolutely, no matter the circumstances - be it civil unrest, natural disaster or some kind of court-appointed disaster, the five people we would want at our side would be my parents, her parents and depending on circumstances
Dave and/or a really good lawyer.
Character and experience will tell in a crisis, and we already know how some of these people will behave, except maybe the hypothetical lawyer.
I so wished someone else had commented before me. That's the cowardly part of my nature.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I am proud. Not only to be your friend but to have unexpectedly earned such a level of trust.
Would I be there for you in any capacity I could be? Absolutely.
I also know that you would do the same for me.
I personally have never been a hero to anybody, but I have served alongside such people and it makes me proud to know that.
Well, you do have a fairly unusual and wide-ranging set of skills, well-developed sense of ethics and honour, and a sense of humour. All important things in the lifeboat.
ReplyDeleteAh.. the lifeboat.
ReplyDeleteRule number one. Water. Capture water. And it's not the stuff you're sitting in.
