My father taught me so much

and I'm passing it all on to my kids in just this way.

I should hasten to add that my dad taught me to love the Montreal Canadiens, the Cleveland Indians, the great outdoors, good newspapering, good wine and so many, many other good things. Thanks, Dad.

My dad taught me to love the Maple Leafs and the Argos. I hate the former and tolerate the latter. He also taught me to say 'thank you' to bus drivers. I scoffed at him. Now I live in Vancouver where everybody thanks the driver upon descending. Now I do, too. He told me often I would never amount to anything and my life would be hell because I was an idiot. I guess he was right about that, too.
